The Joint Session for Reviewing Challenges of the National Single Trade Window System of Iran

On Tuesday, January 23, 2025, a joint meeting was held to review the challenges and system discrepancies in issuing import cargo insurance policies and related endorsements through Iran’s National Single Trade Window System. The meeting took place at the office of the Iranian Insurers Syndicate and was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade (MIMT), the Central Headquarters to Combat the Smuggling of Goods and Currency, the Central Insurance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Fanavaran (Iran EIT) company, and several managers and experts in the fields of cargo insurance and information technology from various insurance companies.

In this meeting, the major issues and challenges arising in the process of issuing import cargo insurance policies and their endorsements through the National Single Trade Window System were thoroughly discussed and reviewed. Among the key topics of discussion were problems related to electronic systems, particularly those involving electronic signatures, banking limitations, and challenges related to currency exchange rate fluctuations. The attendees stressed the necessity of resolving these issues and agreed that each of the relevant organizations should take the required actions to address these challenges to optimize the process of issuing insurance policies and align them with the desired standards.

It is worth mentioning that Iran’s National Single Trade Window System was launched under the supervision of the E-Commerce Development Center at the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade. This system is designed to provide a unified platform for domestic and international traders, aiming to oversee trade processes with precision, reduce goods smuggling, and enhance the security of commercial transactions. By facilitating trade processes, the system accelerates the procedures for imports and exports and minimizes operational challenges.

After the meeting, the attendees agreed on the importance of inter-organizational cooperation and the need for ongoing follow-ups to resolve the challenges. Furthermore, they emphasized the effective use of information and communication technology capabilities to enhance the performance of trade systems and improve user experiences.
